The Committee recommends changes in disability policies and programs, supports a network of committees on people with disabilities, issues awards to promote greater awareness, and promotes compliance with disability-related laws.</p> <p><strong>Jen&eacute;e Land </strong>of Lubbock is chief executive officer and owner of 512 Terps, a Deaf- and Woman-owned interpreting agency. As a Deaf professional and business owner, she brings both lived and professional experience in advancing communication access and accessibility for Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals. She is a member of the Caprock Society of Interpreters for the Deaf Board of Directors and an advisory committee member for interpreter education programs at Austin Community College and Texas Tech University and helps organize the South Plains Deaf Social. Land received a Bachelor of Science in Family and Child Studies with a minor in Psychology from Gallaudet University.</p>
